Food Storage Shelves
Organizing canned food in the pantry can be a tiring job for a lot of people. Because of the bulk, it consumes too much space in the kitchen. However, you can organize your food storage shelves by yourself to accommodate your canned good. There are a wide variety of shelf options available. Determine the amount you feel comfortable spending and consider what will suit your needs best.
Build your own, buy plastic or metal shelves, or splurge and buy a fancy can rotation system. To build your own is the cheapest option and it offers the most flexibility, but time-intensive. While using inexpensive metal or plastic shelving (i.e. from Walmart) is also cheap and easy way to get started, but your Food Storage Shelves may not be as durable as higher quality metal shelves which offers heavy duty hardware store shelves that should have no problem with bowing or collapsing under heavy weights. The most expensive option is to have food rotation systems that were designed to easily store and rotate a large amount of cans. Every food rotation system features patented front-loading technology and fits easily into most storage spaces. It is very convenient for easily rotating through foods.
Don’t let lack of space discourage you from building up an emergency food supply. Food storage shelves is very important for your family, but if stacked cans have taken over your shelf and floor space, it’s time for a storage makeover. Start with one set of shelves and add more as your food storage grows. Clear a space near your shelves for 5 gallon buckets/water containers/etc. Cover with old carpet or pallets to avoid storing directly on concrete.
