The background color is more of an ecru and not a white. It’s perfect for if you have walls that are more of a cream color. The tie-up’s aren’t sewn into the header as stated in the description. Also, the tie-ups are the black toile pattern on one side and black/ecru checked on the other. This Victorian Window Shades is a good bargain, but great quality first. This certainly delivers on both accounts. I bought two for my kitchen, and what a difference it has made. It looks very comtemporary, fun, and inviting. Voile victorian window shades does not mean dreary or out of date-it can be very chic!
